History

Starfighter Arduxim was released in 2016 for the Gear VR, with Rift and SteamVR ports released in the same year. The 2021 Quest port improves many aspects of the game:

  • Complete graphical overhaul. Ship models and weapon effects have been upgraded to take advantage of the increased processing power that the Oculus Quest has compared to the Gear VR.

  • New missions have been added to the campaign.

  • Added a new primary weapon: the kinetic lance which allows for long range precision shooting.

  • Add a new secondary weapon: drop mines behind your ship to surprise the enemy you can’t shake off.

  • A pre-mission briefing similar to those of the original Wing Commander.

  • Added a cruise mode that greatly increases the ship’s speed at the cost of being unable to turn or fire.

  • Voice chat support added to multiplayer.
